Tis true, I have finished my first jQuery plugin, and released it in the wild. This is good news; not only for the people planning to use it, but for those of you interested in learning jQuery. Why? You may ask. Well, I’m going to be creating a tutorial on my site Noobcube that will cover the creation process, from beginning to end, of my new jQuery plugin, Meerkat. I will walk you through the entire process of creating it! If you’ve been following my tutorials on Noobcube.com, you know I don’t leave out the details!
My new project Noobcube.com has officially launched! Noobcube will be a site dedicated to Web Design and Web Development tutorials, tips, resources, and freebies. I’ve already posted 2 tutorial articles covering some CSS techniques. We will be providing quality articles on a weekly basis. In addition to our in depth tutorials, we’ll also be providing useful resources, tips, and freebies on a regular basis.
Inspired by Chris Coyier’s archive at CSS-Tricks, I’ve decided to create the Ultimate Archive Index With Pagination. By Ultimate, I mean, functions well and looks good! I’ll be the first to say, I’m a beginner when it comes to PHP or hacking Wordpress. I knew what I wanted it to do, and how I wanted it to look. All I had to do was find out how I was going to accomplish it. After many hours of trial and error, I’ve achieved what I wanted to achieve, and I’m going to share it with you.
If you’re anything like me, you can never have too many textures, brushes, vectors, or color swatches. I have folders upon folders of textures on my laptop. All of them were taken using a Nikon D80. As I go through them and find ones that are worth sharing, I’ll share them with all of you! Today, I’m sharing 5 Hi-Resolution concrete textures. All of them have a ‘grungy’ feel to them. I’ve yet to use them but I totally dig these, and hope to soon. Download them, use them, and let me know if you did! I’d love to see.
This is one of those things you see done on a lot of blogs, but just can’t seem to find a simple answer on how they did it. What we’re going to do is create a page that lists our post excerpts which will contain a title, date, category, comment count, and of course the content. Simple right? Chances are we’ve all done this already. I mean, it’s pretty much a standard wordpress blog setup. What we’re going to do differently is take the post image out of the the_excerpt(); completely and create a custom field instead.
